Why is it that England has won one world cup but has never returned to the final again?
You could probably count England’s success on one hand first finger says won 1 world cup, the second finger says 1 semi-final and now you can stop counting, because the rest is 6 quarter finals +.
Although it won’t be the first time I echo this, that success can’t be measured in nationalism especially when Greece’s national coach was German when they defeated Portugal in Euro 2004. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/
England has so many problems it’s actually a chore finding where to start my blog two paragraphs in. Player’s are not getting enough time to train. Grass pitch’s are still of a lower standard generally. We love using size 5 footballs with our 5-9 year olds. We aim to win and use quick fixes because most coaches do it voluntary and part time, and many stop going on football courses after their FA level 2 for various reasons. No wonder we play kick and rush if we are only luck to see our players once a week for training. I’d still be trying to do my SATS if I went to school one hour a week.
It is nearly impossible to talk about the frailties of youth development without talking about the whole structure, and until the FA and Co unites and make a sensible long term vision, and more importantly sticking to it, we can all complain and write as much as we like and it won’t change.
A friend of mine highlighted two points that made a lot of sense, from a football perspective we have gained nothing from our new national stadium that cost nearly a billion, all we hear is the same echoes from players regarding the playing surfaces poor standards. And how many full time coaches could we gain by Capello only earning 30% of what he currently earns now. We still have no national centre but we have all the wrong things as priorities. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Read the future game by the FA they can talk the talk but they can’t walk the walk. The nation was calling for Capello’s head as a scapegoat, then we need to call those FA buffoons a taxi out of Soho as well.
